Review The Content Of Your Life

*4. Review The Content Of Your Life* Look at your own. Life in the light of time. Millions of years have passed and millions will come. What is your life? 60,70 or 100 years? Span of life is insignificant. It is not even a drop in the ocean.  In terms of space you simply don't exist. This understanding dissolves the ego. Ego is ignorance of your reality, ignorance of your existence. Now, just to know this, do we have to do something else? Just open your eyes Who am I? How I am on this planet? What is my life time?  Awareness dawns in the mind and you will stop worrying about little things like, this person said this thing to me and that person broke away with me and this happened with that person and I am going to say this. All smallness will simply drop away, and you will be able to live every moment of your life.  Your life reels around your context. You should be happy in life. All other business involve ups and downs which is very natural. If there is a bo...

My Guru Is Always With Me

My name is Rupen. I am a part of Art of Living since the August of 2012. There was a point where I discontinued because I believed there was no point in doing these breathing techniques and they would not help me. I ignored the Master’s calls and gave excuses like I am not well or I am very busy. I reside in Dubai and I am facing a huge financial problem.  I was not able to manage on my own here. Then I spoke to my sister in Mumbai. She told me to fly back immediately and I went to Mumbai with lots of hope and support of my family members. However, I also had a habit of lying due to which my family only supported me partly. My sister requested me to join Art of Living again. I agreed with her and completed my part 1 course, and my faith towards my Guru became stronger and stronger each day. On the last day of the course, I told my teacher Satishji that I wanted to meet Gurudev. He told me that Guruji was in Anand, Gujurat and that I can go and meet him there and surrend...

CELEBRATING THE SILENCE

Weekly Knowledge 71 Bangalore Ashram 16 Oct 1996 India CELEBRATING THE SILENCE One who has given everything has also given freedom: Honor the freedom first and make good use of all things given to you. Your sankalpas (intentions) and desires separate you from God. Offer all the desires and your sankalpas to the Divine... then you are divine... you are God... you are free... lacking nothing. Effort is the key in the relative, Effortlessness is the key to the Absolute. Your mind does not belong to you. Don't blame it. Let the BIG SELF embrace it.

Don’t identify yourself with the emotions you go through

*Don’t identify yourself with the emotions you go through* The mind is like a mirror, whatever comes in front of it is reflected in it. But a mirror doesn’t cry, “Oh, I got dirty”, when a dirty picture comes in front of it.  And it doesn’t jump up and say, “Oh, I have got these wonderful qualities” when something good is reflected. When you’re driving, you can see in the mirror that there is a garbage can behind your car. Just imagine the mirror identifying itself with the garbage can.  Or, imagine the mirror identifying with some beautiful scenery. In both cases, what would you say? It’s a stupid idea, it’s not the case. The mirror is neither the garbage can, nor the scenery. And that is exactly how it is with our own consciousness.  Our consciousness is like a mirror. Different images come onto it, and they all move away. Know this, and be free. When we get attached to any of those images, that is bondage. So, wake up and see, the mind is a mirror. - Gurudev...
