Health checks for your heart

Do preventive checkups for Heart. Blood pressure ā€“ have your blood pressure checked every two years if it is normal, you are aged under 40 years, and there is no family history of high blood pressure. First Aid Box

Things To Keep In First Aid Box 1. An antiseptic To remove any dirt and debris and prevent infection after a minor injury. 2. Adhesive bandage Accidents happen. Even if you arenā€™t someone who bumps into things all the time, or have kids, waterproof Band-aids or Hansaplast can come in quite handy in a variety of situations. Case in point: shoe bite. The bandage will prevent your clothes (or shoes) from rubbing against your wound and keep it dry at the same time. 3. Gauze dressing :- Yes, they are a bit old-fashioned. But theyā€™re just as versatile as they were in your parentsā€™ time.  4. CrĆŖpe bandages :- For sprains and sympathy. 5. Safety pins:- Two reasons: safety pins are versatile - they come in handy for wardrobe emergencies, too; and when you break the clasp on your crĆŖpe bandage, youā€™ll need a safety pin to keep the bandage in place. 6. Tweezers :- Donā€™t go trying to remove a splinter with that safety pin, now. Use tweezers. And if it looks like the splinter is in too deep, d...

Hepatitis

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 325 million people around the world have chronic hepatitis B (HBV) or hepatitis C (HCV). Thatā€™s roughly the population of the United States. here are five different types of viral hepatitis:- Hepatitis A,B,C,D, and E are the different types of hepatitis virus; all of these viruses cause liver disease. Hepatitis A typically does not cause chronic infection and has no complications.  However, deaths caused by viral hepatitis are increasing globally. Viral hepatitis causes over 1 million deaths each year. Itā€™s responsible for two of every three liver cancer deaths.

What are the effects of Caffeine on Human body?

Many of us rely on a morning cup of coffee or a jolt of caffeine in the afternoon to help us get through the day. But caffeine does so much more than just keeping you awake. Itā€™s a central nervous system stimulant that affects your body in numerous ways. Caffeine provides no nutritional value on its own. Itā€™s tasteless, so you wonā€™t necessarily know if itā€™s in your food either.  At a minimum, you may feel more energetic, but over time, too much caffeine may cause withdrawal symptoms. Caffeine acts as a central nervous system stimulant. When it reaches your brain, the most noticeable effect is alertness. Studies have also found that people who drink coffee regularly have a lower risk of developing Alzheimerā€™s and dementia, and cut suicide risk by 45 percent. These benefits are limited to people who drink high-octane coffee, not decaf. Extra caffeine doesnā€™t get stored in your body either. Itā€™s processed in the liver and exits through your urine. Caffeine can make your blood pressure...

What is Mechanical Ventilation?

Mechanical ventilation is a treatment to help a person breathe when they find it difficult or are unable to breathe on their own. A mechanical ventilator pushes airflow into the patientā€™s lungs to help them breathe.  Mechanical ventilation may be   ā€¢ Invasive ventilation with a tube inserted into the patientā€™s airway, performed in the intensive care unit in the hospital.  ā€¢ Noninvasive ventilation that can be used at home by people with respiratory difficulties. Mechanical ventilation first came into use in 1929. The two types of mechanical ventilation are   ā€¢ Positive-pressure ventilation: pushes the air into the lungs.  ā€¢ Negative-pressure ventilation: sucks the air into the lungs by making the chest expand and contract. Negative-pressure ventilation: The early ventilators were negative-pressure ventilators. Negative pressure ventilation is very little in use now.  ā€¢ Iron lung: The first mechanical ventilator, a metal cylinder which enveloped th...

What is Diaphragmatic Breathing?

Normal breathing is relatively shallow and does not use the full capacity of the lungs. Diaphragmatic breathing is a deep breathing exercise that fully engages the diaphragm and increases the efficiency of the lungs.  Diaphragmatic breathing, or ā€œbelly breathing,ā€ involves fully engaging the stomach, abdominal muscles, and diaphragm when breathing. This means actively pulling the diaphragm down with each inward breath. In this way, diaphragmatic breathing helps the lungs fill more efficiently. During diaphragmatic breathing, a person consciously engages their diaphragm in order to take deeper breaths. A person will notice their stomach rising and falling. They will also feel an expanding or stretching sensation in the stomach, rather than solely in their chest and shoulders.
