Ipomoea obscura in Bengaluru Karnataka India Ipomoea obscura syn. Convolvulus obscurus (Obscure morning glory or pan bel) - Convolvulaceae. Beautiful pale yellow flowers with deep purple throat. Banglore, Karnataka India Ipomoea obscura, the obscure morning glory or small white morning glory, is a species of the genus Ipomoea. It is native to parts of Africa, Asia, and certain Pacific Islands, and it is present in other areas as an introduced species.  Family :  Convolvulaceae Scientific name :  Ipomoea obscura Higher classification :  Ipomoea Kingdom :  Plantae  Order :  Solanales  The leaves of Ipomoea obscura are collected from the wild and eaten as a cooked vegetable in Kenya and added to soup in Nigeria . The plant is also used as fodder for all livestock. In DR Congo leaf sap is used to treat fits of insanity and in eastern Africa a root decoction is drunk against dysentery.
