Chenopodium album (Bethe ko Sag) is a fast-growing weedy annual plant in the genus Chenopodium. Though cultivated in some regions, the plant is elsewhere considered a weed. Nutrition: They are rich in fiber, protein and is loaded with both Vitamins A and C. It is also high in manganese, calcium, copper and has a bit of iron, and is high in both omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. Medicinal uses: It is an important source of food that can be considered a key staple, while at the same time it is also an extremely valuable medicine. When the leaves are chewed into a green paste and applied to the body, it makes a great poultice for insect bites, minor scrapes, injuries, inflammation and sunburn.
