A mirror which first reflects you and then gives you what you want, what is right for you

I was super excited as it was my birthday and Guruji will be in Mumbai to address the vote for better India convention. With Anuraag bhaiyas efforts I was part of security seva at the hotel where Guruji will be staying. I along with other volunteers was assigned for security at the 9th floor lobby. Guruji has not yet arrived and we were told that Guruji will come to the lobby and from there he will go to his room. But at the end moment plans were changed and Guruji took lift from the ground floor and went to his room. I was a little disappointed but was hopeful as i had the entire day ahead. In the afternoon I finally got the signal to go and met Guruji. I went into the room and sat on a sofa with others who were waiting for him. Guruji entered the room, each one took turns and met guruji and took his blessings. Finally it was my turn I went close to him and gave him a bouquet of rose flowers and took his blessing. Completely mesmerized by his divine presence I forgot all that i though...

My Miracle

I really don’t know where to start from when it comes to sharing miracle stories because they are endless. Life itself is a MIRACLE after meeting Guruji. I belong to a Brahmin family where chantings, poojas and homas carry a lot of importance and having some Guru in life has a lot more importance than that. But somewhere people don’t know whom to consider their Guru and they go crazy for whole life in search of HIM. But they say it is better to have a Guru in your life; life becomes a celebration. I started celebrating life since December 2010, till then I was just surviving. You always love and remember those who stand by you in your problems. My life was a mess and my journey with The Art of Living started with lots of problems in life. I had two AOL teachers at home and I still wasn’t able to do any course. After waiting for 4-5 years, I got an opportunity and my questions answered through a dream. I was very much connected to AOL without any of the courses because I heard Guruji on...

THE POWER IN MASTERS GRACE

My daughter (Sanaya) and I were going through a terrible phase as death of my dear mother had devastated me. The health of my uncle (the only father figure at home) was deteriorating day by day. He felt he was a liability for us and his illness was hindering our lives. Meanwhile, Sanaya had been in hospitality industry working with Shangri-La as a GRE. She also had the privilege to be with Gurudev at the hotel on his recent visit to Mumbai in February 2013. Sanaya was happy with her job but her timings were very erratic as she had to work for long hours and even late nights (sometimes even till 2 AM). Due to this I used to be stressed frequently and my mind was never at peace. On the day of Holi (a colorful Indian festival celebrated in March) evening, when everyone was resting having celebrated this day of colors, a disaster occurred in our lives. My uncle had committed suicide. This incident had broken me down completely. I had planned to go for Sangeeta Jani’s (a senior teacher of a...

A Blessed Encounter

I have been associated with AOL since October 2008, and in these past few months, my experience has been nothing short of great. I feel that my life and personality have been transformed after being associated with AOL and Gurudev. I did my basic course in October and DSN in December 2009 with Anandji, and it was a complete transformation of life. I was so impressed by Gurudev that I was thinking of meeting him personally and was looking forward to some opportunity to do so. Luckily, I was called for some official training at the Bangalore office in January 2010, and I made up my mind to visit Gurudev in the Ashram. I checked his timing and availability and was supposed to attend Satsang at the Ashram where I got to know that Gurudev would be attending Satsang from 7-9. But that evening, due to heavy traffic, when I reached the Ashram, it was 8:40 PM, and all the doors of the Ashram were locked as Gurudev was about to leave. I saw Gurudev from a glass window and was a little disappoint...

On A Beautiful Island

I was going through a very difficult time and used to pray to Krishna, talking to him all the time. One day, out of anger, I asked why he was hiding and why he didn’t come to save me from all my worries. In 2006, I met Gurudev for the first time when he visited our beautiful island. A friend invited me to a big ceremony given for Gurudev, and I sat far from the entrance corridor. Suddenly, my friend called me to sit near her and told me that Gurudev would pass in our direction. Without thinking, I found myself moving towards her. A few minutes later, Gurudev arrived, and while passing near us, I reached out and touched his hand. I felt an indescribable emptiness and started crying. My friend didn’t understand what was happening. Gurudev gave a beautiful speech, and I heard his words, “I have come to take all your worries away.” I didn’t doubt his true identity for a second. Since then, my life has changed so much, and Gurudev takes care of every little thing that I need. I dance in his...

A Miracle Encounter With Gurudev

I have been a devoted follower of the Art of Living since 2013, living in Noida. However, in 2016, my life took a turn for the worst. Despite practicing Sudarshan Kriya religiously for three years, everything fell apart in a matter of months. In March 2016, I discovered that my wife was having an affair with a colleague. We had a big fight and I considered getting a divorce. While seeking legal advice, I received even more devastating news. In May 2016, my three-year-old son was diagnosed with autism. I was crushed by this news and lost faith in Gurudev. Then, in July 2016, my father was diagnosed with cancer. I stopped practicing Kriya and began questioning Gurudev’s knowledge and grace. My depression soon escalated, and I even contemplated suicide. But in November 2016, I heard that Gurudev was coming to Noida for “Vigyan Bhairav,” and I decided to attend. On the day of the program, an unknown teacher from my area asked for a ride to the venue, and I agreed. He needed help with parki...

The Blessings Of Grace

I was at a crossroads in my career. Despite my best efforts, I wasn’t making any progress, with no promotions or prospects on the horizon. Feeling lost and stuck, I reached out to Gurudev for guidance and support. Soon after, a friend from AOL messaged me on Facebook to share that she was pursuing the GMAT. This sparked an idea in my mind, and I decided to start preparing for the exam with the aim of attending one of the world’s top business schools. Although I gave it my all, my GMAT score was disappointing, and I felt my hopes were dashed. But then, out of nowhere, the same friend messaged me again, sharing her own experience of passing the GMAT on the second attempt. This gave me hope and renewed determination. In my second attempt, I achieved a score that exceeded my expectations and qualified me to apply to the top 10 business schools in the world. This was nothing short of a miracle, and I knew it was all thanks to Gurudev’s grace. As he says, grace is when you receive what you c...

The Six Kinds of Wealth

https://www.artofliving.org/in-en/wisdom/theme/shat-sampathi The Six Kinds of Wealth – Shat Sampathi Since ancient times, it is said that strength of character is very essential. The Shat Sampatti are the six virtues that contribute towards one’s greatness in character – hence termed as wealth. In this article, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar explains each of these six virtues. 1) Kshama Kshama means to have that inner tranquillity of the mind. The word Shanti (peace) comes from the word Kshama. This is a very important quality. It is wealth that one should strive to acquire. When the mind is not at peace, your intellect becomes dull and hazy, and you are not able to listen or understand what someone else is saying. To sharpen the intellect, you first need to calm the mind. Suppose you see someone breaking a rule – if you get angry, you are only making yourself miserable. Instead, keep the mind calm and steady. If need be, educate the other person about their mistake. And if they are not ...

What are you doing, Gurudev?

Gurudev was sitting by the riverside for long time. Then, a devotee asked him "What are you doing, Gurudev?" Gurudev replied, "I am waiting for the river to finish flowing so that, I can get across the river." To this the devotee replied, "What are you saying Gurudev? If you wait for the river to finish flowing, you will just keep waiting and will never end up crossing the river, Gurudev!" Gurudev said, "This is exactly what I have been trying to make you all understand. Those who always keep telling me that they will start their seva (selfless service), smaran (meditation/ remembrance), satsang (sacred gathering); once their life's responsibilities are completed. Just as the river's flow will never stop and we have to cross the river amidst its flowing waters, likewise our life itself may end but our life's responsibilities will never end...AND amidst our busy work and responsible lives, we have to find our path (or time for) of seva, sma...
