Motion sickness, also known as travel sickness or kinetosis

Motion sickness, also known as travel sickness or kinetosis, is a condition that occurs when there is a discrepancy between the motion sensed by the inner ear and the visual perception of motion. It can happen during travel or exposure to certain types of motion, such as in a moving vehicle, boat, airplane, or amusement park ride.

Ayurvedic Perspective:

In Ayurveda, motion sickness is believed to be caused by an imbalance of the three doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha). The inner ear's vestibular system, which is responsible for detecting motion and maintaining balance, is governed by the Vata dosha. When there is an imbalance in Vata, it can lead to conflicting sensory information and trigger motion sickness.
