Even when he is doing action, he should always be known as a sannyasin who neither dislikes nor desires; free from the dualities, he is easily and happily released from bondage.
Here again, Lord Krishna says that a true renunciate, a true sannyasin, is free from likes and dislikes. If when you sit for meditation, your mind continues to run towards the outside world, it is of no use to say, āYes, I have renounced everything. I have renounced the world.ā
In this verse, Bhagavan Krishna declares that a karma yogi should always be considered a sannyasin, a renunciate. Do your duty, but be free! If you do that, you are a true sannyasin. When you do your duty without having likes and dislikes, you donāt have any desires. Then you are free from the duality!
Lord Krishna tells Arjuna, āYou are a true renunciate. You are free! Itās easy for you to renounce and be free, because you do your duty with an attitude of surrender. You donāt have the two enemies of attraction and repulsion in your mind, which delay one on the spiritual path and throw one into the bondage of karma. You are above this duality.ā Thus, if a karma yogi is doing his action for the sake of serving God, through the Grace of the Divine, through the Grace of the Master, he is easily freed from bondage, freed from karma.
