Relax.. Just because you get few marks, some boy or girl rejected you and your love failed?  Leave all this.. The biggest power of the universe is yours.. We are eternal.. Our life is eternal.. Walk like a king.. WAVES OF HAPPINESS

You will be successful

Is it possible for the wind to stop moving? No.. Wake up!  In life, our responsibility will never end.. Happily do all the duties and responsibilities and leave the rest to God with faith.. Relax.. Running away from people and situations is not the solution.. Just deal with it.. Know that there is a higher power that will hold your hand.. You will be successful.. WAVES OF HAPPINESS

THE DIVINE BEYOND TIME

Weekly Knowledge 104 Bus on the Tour-de-France 03 Jun 1997  France THE DIVINE BEYOND TIME An ignorant person either disbelieves or believes the individual. The wise neither disbelieves nor believes the individual. His faith rests on Kala (time). When the time is good, a foe will behave like a friend. When the time is not good, even a friend will behave like a foe. The wiser one believes in Mahakala (the Grand time or Shiva). An ignorant person disbelieves in time and the Divine beyond time. In the world and in time there is always room for improvement. You can improve your time and your nature. Only the Being is perfect all the time. Take refuge in the Being and become incorrigible. "I am" incorrigible. ...

Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha

There are 4 principles : dharma, artha, kama, and moksha. Dharma is the nature. The body has its nature. If the body wants to sleep you have to provide it with rest. But, what do we do if the body wants to sleep? We put on the television because of an interesting movie. We are going against the body. Dharma, the body has its demands. Artha is the means, kama is the desire and moksha is the release from the desire. Suppose the body has a desire to eat and even though you have eaten, the desire has not vanished. Your stomach is full, but the mind wants you to eat. So the desire to eat still remains. Can you relate to this situation? This is where moksha comes in. Moksha means release from the desire. Dropping of desire is moksha. If there is no co-ordination between these four faculties, then life will be a total chaos. It will be a misery. When there is co-ordination between the 4 faculties, the desire and the nature are co-ordinated. The means and fulfillment are co-ordinated. Liberati...

THE WAY OUT OF SORROW

Weekly Knowledge 103 Marseilles 28 May 1997  France THE WAY OUT OF SORROW If your are unhappy you better check if one or all of these are lacking:  Tapa (penance),  Vairagya (dispassion), Sharanagati (surrender). - Tapas is agreeing with the moment, total acceptance of pleasant or unpleasant situations. - Vairagya means I want nothing and I am nothing. - Sharanagati is "I am here for You, for Your joy." If you are grumbling then these are lacking, because when you accept the situation you cannot grumble; when you take it as Tapa you will not grumble; when you come from a state dispassion ("I don't want anything") you don't grumble; and if you are surrendered you will have no complaints. All these three (Tapas, Vairagya and surrender) purify your mind and uplift you in joy. If you don't do it willingly you will do it in desperation. First you say, "Nothing can be done." Then in anger and desperation you say, "I give up, I want nothing, I ...

Find our path of seva, sadhana and satsang and give it the highest priority.

Shared by someone who was with Gurudev one day, Gurudev was sitting by the riverside and I asked him, "What are you doing Gurudev?" Gurudev replied, "I am waiting for the river to finish flowing so I can get across the river." To this I replied, "What are you saying Gurudev? If you wait for the river to finish flowing, you will just keep waiting and will never end up crossing the river, Gurudev". Gurudev said, "This is exactly what I have been trying to make you all understand. Those who always keep telling me that they will start their seva (selfless service), sadhana (meditation/spiritual practises), satsangs (sacred gathering) once their life's responsibilities are completed. Just as the river flow will never stop and we have to cross the river amidst it's flowing waters, likewise our life itself may end but our life's responsibilities will never end and amidst our busy work and responsible lives, we have to find our path of...

Everything is possible when He is in our lives

On 24th February, 2013 my daughter and me were returning home on a two wheeler from another devotee’s house when we got into an accident as another vehicle crashed into ours.  My daughter, who was driving, lost her balance and the scooter tumbled. I remember standing up and running after those who hit us but they did not stop. When I looked back my daughter was still on the road and was unable get up. Somebody handed me my mobile phone and bag. I felt like nothing worse could happen Finally by midnight, after twin X-Rays, the doctor told she had multiple fractures in her right knee. I was numb with pain and sorrow watching her writhe in pain. Since I became an Art of Living teacher, I have been so sure that Sri Sri is looking after me, where ever I may be. It was very bewildering for me, to think about how this could happen, especially because a month ago she had gone to the Bangalore Ashram (International Art of Living Center in India) for her Advanced Meditation Cours...

You are not alone my dear

Gurudev brought me into his fold in the late 90s and since then, I have felt his presence at all times.  There are so many stories of his divine Grace to tell, as each day a new co incidence/serendipity/chance happening unfolds (as most would call it), I know these are his blessings, assurances and guidance to me. One such 'happening' I would like to narrate, was in 2018, while my husband and I were on a hike to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery in Bhutan. A 3000 ft rocky trek to this Monastery, that rests on a steep cliff takes approx 6 hours to cover. It had been raining that morning which made the climb slippery and more challenging. A few hours later into the climb, my husband who is diabetic, was looking very pale and unwel. His sugar level had dropped. We stopped and wondered what we should do as this had never happened to him before. I rummaged in my back pack hoping to find a sweet as an SOS. No luck. I kept chanting "Jai Guru Dev" in my mind for HIM to t...

Sea of happiness and bliss in my Life

I was in the 9th standard when I first joined the Medha Yoga Workshop of the Art Of Living. I felt immense positive energy and goodness all around me after doing this Workshop.  I then started doing my Sadhna daily and really wanted to meet Gurudev. Finally one day, during my board exams, my Teacher Lalit bhaiya was going to Jaipur for attending an AOL function which Gurudev was also going to attend.  I somehow convinced my parents and got their permission to go to for the function so that I could get a chance to meet the Master. Once we reached there we came to know that Guruji was coming to an auditorium before the function.  I really wanted to go and meet Him there. In the end, bhaiya told me to go on stage to meet Guruji. So I went and nobody stopped me. I reached right in front of Gurudev. He was looking at me as though he knew me since years.  I felt such happiness and bliss in that one moment that I cannot express that ecstatic feeling in words. Ju...

Guruji Saved Me At The Right Time

26th july 2005 is the most unforgettable day for me. My husband and I were in office when it started pouring and by the time we packed up we could sense the fate of our own house which was on ground floor. Once we reached there, we couldn’t enter because of the waist-deep water. We were forced to stay at my in-laws place for 2-3 days. Once the water level went down, we could see everything in our house being washed away. We were left with only our scattered world in front of us. It had taken us 15 long years to bind the things here and it all came trembling down in just 15 minutes. My husband decided to leave that place once and for all and take our daughter along with us since he too silently suffered separation from her. When I lost all hope, about a month later during the 1st week of September 2005, I came to know about Art of Living. I was assured by some volunteers that the course will free me of all my problems. Although I wanted to get rid of my sufferings...

Asclepiadaceae, a family of Indole alkaloids and Cardiac glycosides

The Asclepiadaceae form a climax family specializing in staminal corona, a gynostemium and pollinia. The family contains more of herbs and shrubs rather than trees and consists of 2000 species included in 250 genera. The members are laticiferous herbs, vines or shrubs. Trees are rare. A group of plants like Caralluma have become modified to cactus-like succulents. The compounds manufactured include cardiac glycosides, alkaloids of indole, pyridine and Phenanthro indolizidine groups and proanthocyanins. Divided to 2 subfamilies. 1. Periplocoideae are primitive in that the stamens are free, corona mostly corolline and anthers are connate around the stigma, but not fused with stigma. The gynostegium and pollinia are absent here. 2. The second subfamily, the major one, is the Asclepiadoideae containing all the plants with gynostegium, pollinia and staminal corona. A. Medicinal plants 1. Asclepias curassavica Linn (Gk Asklepios = god of medicine, due to the medicinal properties of this plant...

Chia Cultivation

Chia is easy to grow, beautiful to look at, and offers lots of nutritional value. It deserves a place in any garden. I have been growing chia organically for the past ten years, and in that time I have fine-tuned my growing and harvesting techniques. Chia is one of the easiest plants to grow, and one of the healthiest. Chia seeds are a very high source of linolenic acid (LNA) and linoleic acid (LA). Both these essential fatty acids attract oxygen and help cell membranes to be flexible and fluid, plus strengthen our immune system to help protect our bodies from viruses, bacteria, and allergies. Most people's diets are dangerously low in essential fatty acids, which results in tired muscles, fatigue, and a range of health problems. We need to eat EFAs daily because the human body cannot manufacture them. If your diet includes a lot of refined oils and processed foods, you are most at risk. EFAs, such as those found in chia, ...

The 10 biggest advantages of vertical farming

It’s now possible to produce large and consistent quantities and quality of food using revolutionary vertical farming methods. But are there enough indoor farming advantages to make it the future of modern agriculture? In this article, Cambridge HOK examines why vertical farming could have a big role to play in the future of global food production. 1. Reliable year-round crop production The biggest vertical farming benefit is the fact it’s not dependent on the weather – meaning you can achieve a consistent year-round crop production without worrying about the impact of adverse weather conditions can have both on quality and profiling of production and yield. Farming in a protected, well-monitored and managed environment brings assurance and peace of mind for growers providing repeatable programmable production. By eliminating the effects of mother nature, there’s no such thing as a 'seasonal crop' and growers won’t suffer from losses as they try to push the production windows o...

Lemongrass – cultivation, benefits

Lemongrass is a tall, perennial grass native to the tropical and sub-tropical climates of South East Asia and Africa. India is the highest producer of lemongrass, where it is cultivated along with the mountain range of the Western Ghats(Maharashtra, Kerala), Karnataka and Tamil Nadu states and beside the foothills of Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim in the Himalayan mountains. The so-called East Indian lemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuosus) , also known as Malabar or Cochin grass is native to India, SriLanka, Burma, and Thailand; for the related West Indian lemongrass (C. citratus ), a Malaysian origin is generally assumed. Both species are today cultivated throughout tropical Asia. The Lemongrass oil is distilled from leaves and flowering tops of Lemongrass. The oil has a strong lemon-like odor, due to a high percentage ( over 75%) of citral in the oil. The characteristic smell of oil makes its use in scenting of soaps, detergents, insect repellent preparati...

What are Morels?

every kilogram of morel would cost between 20,000 and 40,000, depending on its quality and harvest. Everything You Ever Wanted to Know about Morel Mushrooms What are Morels? Morels are one of the most desired wild mushrooms in the world. They are not farmed like most grocery store mushrooms, Cremini, Portobello, Oyster, etc. but gathered in the wild. The part that we eat is the fruiting body of the underground organism called mycelium that has a complex symbiotic relationship with trees. Every spring mushroom enthusiasts, foraging chefs, and an ever growing group of commercial harvesters hunt these little forest treasures. The Morchella genus has been the subject of fascination and debate for centuries. Mycologists (mushroom scientists) cannot agree on how many subspecies of Morchella there are and the nomenclature is constantly under revision. However, doesn’t “a rose by any other name would smell as sweet?” Everyone can agree that morels are delicious and nutr...
