SEVA BLESSINGS

Weekly Knowledge 89 Guess Where? 19 Feb 1997 Guess Where? SEVA BLESSINGS When you do seva don't think you are doing a favor for somebody. You have done the seva and it has rewarded you immediately. Its reward is for sure and is always more than your doing. Your expectation of reward for the seva turns the seva into labor. If you think you have done a lot, you will do very little; if you see you have done a little, then you will do more. Seva is even when you don't see an immediate reward there is no complaint; labor is even after an immediate reward, there will be complaints. Be grateful for any opportunity to do the seva. 🌸Jai Guru Dev🌸

Shiva and Krishna Are One

Weekly Knowledge 91 Singapore 05 Mar 1997  Singapore Shiva and Krishna Are One Angels are a part of the Big Self. The infinity has diverse qualities, and specific qualities assume names. They are called Angels. Angels are nothing but a ray of your Big Self. They are there to serve you when you are centered. Like roots and stems and leaves come out of a seed when it is sprouted, all the Angels in your life manifest when you are centered. Angels rejoice in your company, but you have nothing to gain from them. They only come around those who have nothing to gain from them. Angels are like your extended arms. Like all the colors are present in the white sunlight, all the Angels are present in your higher self. Bliss is their breath, dispassion their abode. The consciousness which is bliss, innocence, omnipresent, and the bestower of dispassion is Shiva. Krishna is the outer manifestation of Shiva. And Shiva is the inner silence of Krishna. 🌸Jai Guru Dev🌸 साप्ताहिक ज्ञा...

SHARE YOUR JOY

Weekly Knowledge 90 Honolulu, Hawaii 26 Feb 1997  USA SHARE YOUR JOY By sharing your misery, it doesn't reduce. By not sharing your joy, it reduces. Share your problems only with the Divine, not with Tom, Dick, or Harry -- that just increases the problem. Share your joy with everybody. Darren: How do you help people who share their misery with you? Guruji: I have a thousand and one ways. Often it happens that when they share their problem with me, it is immediately resolved. Other times it requires some patience. Just know that all will be taken care of. Mary: How do we help people who share their misery with us? Guruji: Listen to others, yet don't listen. Because if your mind gets stuck there, not only are they miserable, you also get miserable. 🌸Jai Guru Dev🌸

BE LOVED

Weekly Knowledge 88 Fort Lauderdale, Florida 12 Feb 1997  USA BE LOVED You don't need to worry to maintain knowledge. When knowledge is lodged in you as wisdom, it will never leave you. Wisdom lodges itself in your heart. Make the Divine your Valentine (your sweet Beloved). This is the last thing to do and the first thing to do. Keep your heart in a safe place; it is too delicate. Events, small things make strong impressions on it. And you cannot find a better place than the Divine to keep your heart safe and your mind sane. When you keep your heart in the Divine, the moving time, the passing events, will not be able to touch it, will not create a scar. A precious stone needs a setting around it, gold or silver, to hold it and to wear it; so wisdom and knowledge are that setting around the heart which will hold it in the Divine. See the Divine in your Valentine and make the Divinity your Valentine (your sweet beloved). Just BE. . .and know that you are LOVED... That is BELOVED. ...

Thus, generally speaking, a vatahara routine is implemented at this time, using foods and therapies that are guru (‘heavy’) and snigdha (‘moistening’) in quality. Warm oil massages, especially those medicated with vathara herbs like As´vagandha¯ root (Withania somnifera) and Bala root (Sida cordifolia), are used upon waking and before bed. Our traditional Rice varieties have higher medicinal and nutritional values

What’s Food Got to Do with It?

What’s Food Got to Do with It?  Digestion is of paramount importance in Ayurveda. The complete digestion, absorption, and assimilation of food nutrients make up the building blocks of the body, called ahara rasa, the juice of the food. When the food is chewed and swallowed, it mixes with water, enzymes, and acids. The resulting product— food matter ready to be assimilated—is the “juice.” To assimilate nature’s bounty into the body connects the microcosm to the macrocosm. Good digestion results not only in a glowing, healthy body but in a glowing consciousness as well. If you are just beginning to understand Ayurveda, it may be easier to become aware of what you are eating and how it makes you feel than it is to realize whether you are “connected.” The feelings of connection and wholeness are fostered by a good diet and a good gut, and isn’t that what everybody wants? Meditation is mental hygiene

It is quite natural that when you are more relaxed great ideas come to you. Write them down but don’t stop mediation, continue. For some of you morning meditation is deeper, and for some others afternoon is better. For some body types, the body is awake and full of activity in the morning and so in the morning you may not be able to meditate. Never mind, you can do it in the afternoon before lunch. Meditate when the body is a little tired, and a little hungry. You should not be too tired, then you will go to sleep. Initially, getting a little tired helps because the rajas in the body has completed its time. Tamas is total sleep, so before tamas comes in and once rajas is finished, in between the two states you can experience sattva, and that is when you can go deep in your meditation.
