NATURE OF MIND – SUTRA STHAANA 8/4

NATURE OF MIND – SUTRA STHAANA 8/4 अतीन्द्र्यीमपुनर्मनःसत्वसन्ग्यकमचेतःइतिआहुरेके तदर्थआत्मसम्पतआयतचेष्टमचेष्टाप्रत्ययभूतमइन्द्रियिणाम.  COMMENTRY – The MANA is the specific DHARAMA or the characteristic of the sense organs like eye etc. ATIKRAANTAMA means which transgresses the sense organs i.e. when the external knowledge which is being realized by the sense organs, is obstructed, that is ATI INDRIYAMA, although mind is the source of experience of the happiness etc, it is also sometimes called INDRIYA, but because it is the thing which lives in the sense organs, and because the CHAKSHU AADI senses are also in the form of micro form, so is the mind also, and then it is also called ATINDRIYA, which is difficult to know about. The other name of this is also SATVA.  It is also called CHETA – which is absolute, which is not opposed by anything, and which loves and follows the self. Synonyms of this have been said in the text according to the practical utility. In this way, it is ...

WHAT IS A PURUSHA? – SHARIRA STHAANA 1/16

WHAT IS A PURUSHA? – SHARIRA STHAANA 1/16 खाद्यश्चचेत्नाषष्ठाधातवःपुरुष्हस्मरतः चेत्नाधातुअपिएकःस्मरतःपुरुषसन्ग्यकः COMMENTRY – The MAHAABHOOTA like KHA (AAKAASHA) etc. KHAADAYA includes AAKAASHA, VAAYU, PRITHAVI, AGNI AND JALA. CHETNAASHASHTHAA – here the CHETNAA word means – which is the basis of the consciousness i.e. AATMAA. Here KHA AADI also means the sense organs which contain these KHA AADI MAHAABHOOTAS and which are unobstructed. This concept of PURUSHA of the AYURVEDA science has been taken from the VAISHESHIKA DARSHANA and it has also been said in SUSHRUTA SUTRA STHAANA 1 like – PANCHAMAHAABHOOTA SHARIRI SAMVAAYI PURUSHA SMRITAH. By the word SMRITAH – it has also been indicative of the description of the PURUSHA by the earlier sages or GURUS, and it is not imaginary here.  PURI SHARIRE SHETE means that which lives in the body, that AATMAA is called by the name PURUSHA, that is also called CHETNAA ETC. so in the context of the PURUSHA, here it is said like PURUSHA SANGAYA...

HEART – WHAT IS HEART AND ITS IMPORTANCE? - SUTRA STHAANA 30/3-4

HEART –  WHAT IS HEART AND ITS IMPORTANCE? - SUTRA STHAANA 30/3-4 ARTHA (heart) is the basis of the ten important vessels performing important functions, and MAHATA and ARTHA are two synonyms of the heart. The body having six major parts, different organs, acquiring right knowledge, functions of the sense organs, the objects of the sense organs, AATMAA (conciousness), SAGUNAS and CHINTYA etc functions of mind  ------- are all dependent on the heart.  COMMENTRY – ARTHE means heart. MAHAAMOOLAA means the DHAMANIS of the heart which are like the roots of the heart also called MAHATA, and which are dependent on heart. MAHATA etc are the synonyms of the heart.  The names MAHATA and the ARTHA are famous in the ayurvedic medical science and not in any other system. Heart is very much important so called MAHATA, as is the importance of money and resources for the rich people, so all care should be taken for the heart. Why we should take care of the heart, is explained by th...

GENERAL LINE OF TREATMENT OF KUSHTHA – 7/31-32

GENERAL LINE OF TREATMENT OF KUSHTHA – 7/31-32 सर्वं त्रिदोषजं कुष्ठं दोषाणां तु बलाबलम्|  यथास्वैर्लक्षणैर्बुद्ध्वा कुष्ठानां क्रियते क्रिया||३१||  दोषस्य यस्य पश्येत् कुष्ठेषु विशेषलिङ्गमद्रिक्तम्|  तस्यैव शमं कुर्यात्ततः परं चानुबन्धस्य||३२|| COMMENTRY---Here the EKADOSHATVA of KUSHTHA which is being said appears to be opposite to the principle of SARVADOSHAZ OF KUSHTHA. KUSHTHA is TRIDOSHAJ, it is sure, but due to the convenience of the treatment,  EKADOSHATWAM ETC has been said. ANUBANDHA means that which is less important.  All types of Kustha are caused by the 3 doshas together, so predominance or minimal role of each dosha must be determined from the respective symptoms (as follows). Doshas are inferred by the type of skin disease present (i.e., Sataru type is predominant in P and K). Similarly, the skin disease type may be inferred by the doshas involved. Also the etiological factors (obtained from oral history of the patient) will indicatethe consequen...

SAMPRAAPTI OF UDARA ROGA – CHIKITSAA STHAANA 13/9-11 AGNIMAANDYA + MALINA BHOJAN results in ---- indigestion --- accumulation of MALAS (including MALA ROOPA DOSHAS and excrements stool, urine and sweat) --- alteration in the functions of PRAANA, AGNI AND APAANA --- swelling in the skin and muscles of the abdomen – which has the character of ADHMAAPANA.  COMMENTRY – The meaning of AGNIDOSHA here is the AGNIMAANDYA. In this way the causation of three DOSHAS in causing the UDARA ROGA has been said – like it is said in SUTRA STHAAN 6 – in the rainy season due to the decrease in AGNI there is aggravation of all PAWAN AADI DOSHAS. MALAA here means VAATAADI and PUREESHAADI. MALINAIH ITI means DOSHA increasing VIRUDHA AHAAR AADI.  Although the MANDAGNI and the MALINAIH both are said the cause of UDARA ROGA, but both these collectively cause an increased disease condition, so to denote the increased condition the word SANCHAYA has been used.  This PRAANA AADI again causes the defo...

IMPORTANCE OF JWARA IN ALL DISEASES – CHARAKA CHIKITSAA 3/3-10

IMPORTANCE OF JWARA IN ALL DISEASES – CHARAKA CHIKITSAA 3/3-10 COMMENTARY – JVARA is the most important cause in the causes which produce discomfort to the mind, body and sense organs. Some diseases make problem to the body only like tumor, some produce problem to the mind only like AHINIVESHA, some to the sense organs like TIMIRA AADI but this JWARA makes problem to all of three. As it is said that when one is afflicted with JWARA, he gets miseries for sure. Affliction to the body is said by SANTAAPA, affliction to the mind and sense organs is said by VAICHITYAMA.  SARVAROGA AGRAJA means it is at first place in all the diseases of the body, even it is said first in the mental disorders also, it is true from many YUGAS.  BALITVAMA means causing many disorders or disturbances. It is the most important in the disease which cause sufferings to the mind and the body.  PRAANI SAPATNASYETI means it kills like enemy. DHRUVASYA means definitely. PRALAYODAYE means at the time of t...

IHAETI means in this context causes are said by different meanings. The SAAR of AYURVEDA

TRISUTRA AYURVEDA - हेतुलिङ्गौषधज्ञानं स्वस्थातुरपरायणम्| त्रिसूत्रं शाश्वतं पुण्यं बुबुधे यं पितामहः||२४|| SWASTHA AND AATUR DONO KE LIYE HETU, LINGA KA GYAANA JARURI HAI. This is the start of becoming a perfect physician which has two functions -- to help his clients remain healthy and to treat his patients when they have a disease.  The SAAR of AYURVEDA which has been described to the BHARDWAJ has been said here as it is. This knowledge includes all HETU, LINGA and AUSHADHA details which explain the AYURVEDA. Here HETU includes both types of causes SANNIKRISHTA and VIPRAKRISHTA both, the LINGA word here means the symptoms both of the disease as well as the health and in this way the word LINGA has been said both for the disease as well as for the health. As it has been said in the example – VISHAM AARAMBHA MOOLANAAMA EKO JWAR HI LAKSHANAM i.e. JWARA is one symptom of all the disease which are having the character of VISHAMA AARAMBHA MOOLAANAAM, or in NIDAANA STHAAN 8 it has been...

Understanding Grahni Disease...

Understanding Grahni Disease... THIS IS A DISEASE OF THE KOSHTHA AFFECTING THE IMPORTANT ORGAN OF THE BODY CALLED `GRAHNI`. There are two important terms— GRAHNI DOSHA- --well described in CHARAKA CHIKITSAA STHAANA 15 especially verse 41---which depicts all the functional changes  i.e. the dysfunctions of the AGNI.  यो हि भुङ्क्ते विधिं त्याक्त्वा ग्रहणीदोषजान् गदान्|  स लौल्याल्लभते शीघ्रं, वक्ष्यन्तेऽतः परं तु ते||४१|| CHAKRAPAANI here clears that all diseases based in GRAHNI can be called as GRAHNI DOSHA like AJEERN etc.  GRAHNI DOSHA name is given especially to that VYAADHI in which there is dysfunction of the NAADI ROOP GRAHNI especially. GRAHNI ROGA- --described by SUSHRUTA UTTARA TANTRA 40#163-178- --defining the GRAHNI as an organ, and saying it is a condition, in which there is a KARMAKSHYA of GRAHNI.  Another phrase GRAHNI KA ABHIDOOSHAN means further deterioration of GRAHNI as an organ, so pointing that there is functional as well as anatomical defec...

I am happiness

Jai Gurudev  Every one want to be happy  Everything done for happiness  In reality happiness is the State of mind .It does not Related to people, places, situations, or time. Being happy all the  time is the first condition for  Happiness . Happiness is not In future. Happiness is not depending on time . Time changes, sometimes there are good times and sometimes there are bad times. If you tie 'happiness' to 'time', then happiness will also change as times change. But when you know, that happiness has nothing to do with time, then you can be happy at all times. And this is knowledge! We tie our happiness to people, places, situations, or time. All that you need to do is move away from this and realize that your nature is happiness, and it has nothing to do with time. This is the highest knowledge. It may sound very difficult, but it is not impossible. Any fool can be unhappy when things are not okay. But it takes courage to be happy even when things are falling ...

Pansy

Flower/Plant : Pansy  Origin: Europe, Asia Plant Type : Violaceae Season: Spring, summer, fall About : Pansies are vigorous, fast-growing, colorful flowers that are a great choice for early and late-season containers or garden beds. The flowers have almost heart-shaped, overlapping petals in bright colors or bi-colors, often with face-like center markings. Breeding has produced pansies that are better able to stand up to the cold, but there hasn’t been much luck producing more heat-tolerant varieties. Technically, pansies are short-season perennials, but they are usually grown as annuals. In zones with mild winters, they can be grown as biennials. Buddleja davidii , summer lilac, butterfly-bush, orange eye

Buddleja davidii also called summer lilac, butterfly-bush, or orange eye, is a species of flowering plant in the family Scrophulariaceae, native to Sichuan and Hubei provinces in central China, and also Japan.  It is widely used as an ornamental plant, and is a rich source of nectar for butterflies. However it doesn't provide food for the butterfly larvae and Buddlejas might out-compete the host plants that caterpillars require.    The genus was named Buddleja after Reverend Adam Buddle, an English botanist Pictures taken at Singapore Botanic Gardens in December 2022 Reference  https://www.facebook.com/myplantdiaries?mibextid=ZbWKwL

Prayer Is A Vital Role

*15. Prayer Is A Vital Role* Prayer is a vital tool to improve your life. It also nurtures values like integrity and honesty. Prayer happens in two situations, or in a combination of situations. When you feel grateful or when you feel utterly helpless. If you are not grateful and prayerful, you will be miserable. In either case your prayers will be answered.  What you can do, you do. What you cannot do, you pray for. It is said the divine dawns in you when you pray for it, when you sing for it. The divine is only waiting for we you to dig a little deeper into yourself. Because, it can then fill you with much more nectar. Divine wants you to create more space in you. Cry from your soul for help. This is for those seekers who are weak. Those seekers who are strong with the power of knowledge can sing with that joy of what they have achieved.  The moment you sing in gratitude, in glory of the divine, it immediately dawns in you, and fills you up again. One type of peo...
