NEW YEAR CELEBRATION

Weekly Knowledge 82 Lake Lucerne 01 Jan 1997  Switzerland   NEW YEAR CELEBRATION The year 1997 is fortunate because you are living at this time. When you are living for the sake of the world, the world is fortunate. You are not living for yourself, but for the world. Whatever the world needs or wants, you are there for that. So the year is fortunate that you are on the earth at this point in time. Let the time celebrate your presence. You keep smiling as ever. Usually people make a wish for the New Year. This year, make no wish. Let the New Year celebrate you. If it wants to bring you nicer things, let it. It's up to it. Usually you are lost in celebration. When you let time celebrate you, you are a witness amidst celebration.

SURRENDER AND SELF-RELIANCE

Weekly Knowledge 81 Lake Lucerne 25 Dec 1996  Switzerland SURRENDER AND SELF-RELIANCE Self-reliance needs enormous courage. Surrender needs less courage. A person who cannot surrender cannot be self-reliant either. If you don't have enough courage to surrender, then it is impossible for you to be self-reliant. You simply fool yourself. People who are afraid to surrender fool themselves. Because even a little fear is detrimental to self-reliance. If you don't have a hundred dollars, you cannot have a thousand dollars. Self-reliance contains surrender. Fifty dollars contains ten dollars. Question: Why does self-reliance need so much courage? When you want to depend on yourself for everything, there is nobody else, then it needs a lot of courage. Often people think that surrender is a way to escape from responsibility and they end up blaming the Divine for all their problems. In fact, the true surrender is taking total responsibility for everything. Susannah: How can we do t...

INCREASING THE ABILITY OF THE DRUG AND REDUCING ITS QUANTITY TO ACT IN GOOD MANNER

INCREASING THE ABILITY OF THE DRUG AND REDUCING ITS QUANTITY TO ACT IN GOOD MANNER -  अल्पस्यापि महार्थत्वं प्रभूतस्याल्पकर्मताम्||४८||  कुर्यात् संयोगविश्लेषकालसंस्कारयुक्तिभिः|४९| Even the DRAVYA in small amounts can do wonderful actions and the DRAVYA in large amounts may not be able to work based on the addition of DRAVYAS or elimination of DRAVYAS, based on the timing of giving the AUSHADHA, and the planning and YOJANAA based on which the AUSHADHA is being used.  COMMENTRY – it is the description of the similar and opposite potency DRAVYA combinations. The DRAVYAS having similar VIRYA act in a strong way but the VIRUDHA VIRYA combinations work weak even if they are in large amounts.  So if some fast acting drugs are made slow acting drugs, this is only to save the AGNI and to save the KOSHTHA from any of their untoward effects. WHAT IS AAMA IN AYURVEDA?

WHAT IS AAMA IN AYURVEDA? The matter which we receive from the universe (VIJATEEYA) has to be converted into suitable substances which could be appropriate for the the body (SAJATEEYA).  It is the result of AGNI (the digestive and metabolic processes).  ---------- Example.. The synthesis of a neuron (a nerve cell), a lipo protein or an epithelial tissue or an osteophyte or a hormone, say TRIDOSHA, SAPTADATHU, MALAS etc. are all derivatives of only a qualitative change of AAHAARA but not of a synthesis of new amino acid or DRAVYA.  🤙🏻🤙🏻 So,  the main function of AGNI is to make a change in the matter, but it never produces the matter.  👉 Always a process or a chain reaction starts and ends up to attaining certain form either in synthetic process (anabolic) or in decaying process (catabolic), resulting in carrying a function.  👇 If this process of transformation gets hindrance due to any of the causative factors (incompatible dietary and living lifestyl...

How do I become as powerful as you are? In this world everyone loves power.

Question - Gurudev, how do I become as powerful as you are? In this world everyone loves power. Gurudev Sri Sri - The biggest power is rest, deep rest and love. If these two things are present in life then everything else will come. It will happen. See, now that you belong to me and I belong to you, you should feel the abundance. Know that you have everything and there is no lack and if you see a flaw or any shortcomings in yourself, then do meditation and do your sadhana. With your practices you will overcome it.

How important is faith?

Question - Gurudev, how important is faith? Gurudev Sri Sri - You cannot exist without faith. Listen, suppose you have come here in a car and you have parked the car in the parking area. Now when you are sitting here you have faith that the car will be there when you go back, isn't it? So, without this faith can you exist? No. First, you should have faith in yourself. There are three types of faith which are important : 1. Faith in yourself. If you do not have faith in yourself it is called paranoia. It is a disease. 2. Faith in the goodness of people around you. There are good people in the world, you should have that faith, otherwise you cannot move one inch in society. 3. Faith in the unknown, faith in the abstract power which seems to be running everything. That is the third type of faith. So, of these three faiths, the first two are very essential, the third will make life much better.
