(A news item appeared in Todays's Times of India, Ahmedabad & Baroda) Nani luni, (chickweed- Portulaca quadrifida) is a smaller relative of Luni (Portulaca oleracea) – a well-known herb easing hypertension in Western countries. This is abundant as a weed in many of the agricultural fields and is found recently a treasure trove of phytochemicals which help in building muscles and body for athletes, reduce hypertension and insomnia and prevent and heal cancer. Miracle in Vigyan Bhairav

Miracle in Vigyan Bhairav  I am delighted and experience a sense of wonder while sharing this miracle in Vigyan Bhairav. Since December 2016, I had pricking pain in my left brain which is like electric shock and terrible. It's unbearable pain like I getting shocks in the left brain.  I went to the Doctor who is the best in diagnosis. He said I have Trigeminal Neurologia and prescribed me a painkiller. I started to take tablets and it's subsided the pain for 1 day, again the same more than before I had to bear. I understood it and after 1 week I stopped taking allopathic tablets. I left my job because pain in the brain doesn't allow me to live and run my routine regularly.  As I am the bread earner in family, I can't afford to sit at home without a job. I started taking Homeopathy treatment. This just helped me to get relieve from pain but I am unable to go on a normal routine as people do. Gradually I started to do job but I feel tired and exhausted very soon. I lost my...

Question- Gurudev, what can I do to increase my capacity to take your blessings? How can I make my cup bigger? Gurudev Sri Sri - In the Advanced Meditation Program you all have heard of the Shatt Sampatti (Six wealths, or six fold virtues) 1. Sama (calmness of mind) 2. Dama (self-control or restraint of the senses) 3. Uparati (satiety) 4. Titiksha (power of endurance) 5. Shradha (faith), and 6. Samadhana (equanimity or one-pointedness of the mind) This is what you must focus on increasing more in your life. By enhancing these virtues, your capacity to receive blessings will increase. Among the four pillars of knowledge, the third one that has these six wealths, that is what we must increase. Also we must do Seva (service) and Sadhana (spiritual practices). You can understand in depth about the four pillars of Knowledge, How can they be useful for both inner and outer growth and the secret behind them in the Advanced Meditation Program of the Art of Living.

Know Life’s Impermanence

*5. Know Life’s Impermanence* See the impermanence in this life. That is the truth. Turn back and see that all that you did is like a dream. All have passed, the whole thing is finished. Tomorrow will pass. Now and then, a pinch of unpleasantness comes. It makes you aware of your pleasantness.  Suppose you never had unpleasant moments in life, you would have never pleasant ones. Your life would stagnate in utter boredom and you would become like a stone. So, in order to keep you alive, now and then, here and there, nature gives you a little pinch. It makes life more lively. Accept it.  You don't have to be afraid in life. There is always support. So, every pinch that you are having in life is for the best, to make your life more lively and enjoyable. Day and night you work so hard. The whole week is spent working, coming home tired, eating, going to bed. The same routine the next day. Weekends have become another routine. If you're awake, then you see there is so m...

SINCERITY AND BLESSINGS

Weekly Knowledge 72 Bangalore Ashram 24 Oct 1996  India SINCERITY AND BLESSINGS Q: Many ask for blessings but only a few will receive it. Why? A: The giver is anyway giving but the taker is not there - the sincerity is missing. One who gives blessings gives it freely but the one who receives it has to be sincere. Sincerity is the qualification to receive blessings. And everyone is free to be sincere at any point of time or space. Q: Why do people choose to be sincere only sometimes? A: Because of the illusion that they are going to miss some mundane pleasure. Hankering after pleasure makes them insincere. When you are sincere you simply enjoy pleasure. Poor people fight for food. Rich people share their food. Richer are those people who share power. Richer still are those who share fame. Richest are those who share themselves. Richness of a person is indicated by his ability to share and not by what he hoards. Godliness is enjoying sharing fame. "Sincerity is being in touch w...
