Glimpses from Hospet

A glimpse into this marvellous, unfathomable, undescribable aspect of creation

Chapter 2 - Neither Yes Nor No  Day 19  What happens there? That space is not afflicted by any action. You are free from karma. Karma is action. There are 3 types of karma. First, potential karma - the tendency in you that will make you act in the future. Second is the action, which is happening now. Third is the action, which has left an impression on you. The impression of action, Acton and potential action, all three are karma. Often people don't make this distinction.  They get so caught up with this karma thing. "Oh karma, karma, karma." In India, say, "It's my karma, so it's inevitable, I had to bear it, this is my karma." If there is something unavoidable, you say this is karma.  Karma is action, which is potential or present, you are acting on it, and third is the impression or effect of karma. A glimpse of this dimension, which is beyond space, frees you from karma. This experience has come to your life sometimes wherein you are sayi...

When you belong to the Divine

Chapter 6 - Love Is Beyond Proof  Day 49 Love is a proof in itself. It is the proof in itself. Just look into someone's eyes, you see whether they are worried or they are in love. In worry there is apathy and in love you can see the spark in their eyes. When you can notice that in others, you think one cannot notice for oneself what is happening inside?  It is impossible. It is like a pain in the neck or in the leg or in your stomach anywhere you have a pain, can you not know it? Do you need someone else to prove that you have a pain? Svayam pramantvat - You know it, you feel it. It is instantaneous.  No external proof is needed for such a love. Two more attributes of Divine love, Narada explains Shanti rupat - Divine love is of the nature of peace. And Paramanand rupascha extreme bliss, extreme ecstasy. Shantirupat peaceful. It is not the love of excitement, it is the love that comes with peace.  Usually love is associated with feverishness or excitement...

To attain Divine love

Chapter 6 - Love Is Beyond Proof  Day 48 Satvik love is unconditional love. “I don’t care what you do to me, but from my side I'm just going to love you. I love because I have no choice. I can't but , because I am love.” This understanding, this tendency that arises from within you, that is satvik love.  From time to time, according to these four different categories of people, these three different types of love manifest in this world. And they can change also. You might have been in tamasik love 10 years back, then you could have come to rajasik, and might have become satvik also.  Wisdom brings you more and more into the satvik type of love. Earlier is always better. Means satvik is better than rajasik, rajasik is better than tamasik. We spoke in the reverse direction it is same thing. Satvik is better than rajasik and rajasik is better than tamasik love.  Similarly the knowledge, the wisdom, the love of a wise person, of a gyani, of an Enlightened, is...

How Art Of Living Turned My Life Into A Positive Celebration

Every time I complete any Art of living program, starting from my first ever experience with Sudarshan Kriya to doing an advance course , the beautiful blessings program , Shakti kriya, TTC, to Samyama , I am reborn! The old me dies and I come up as a completely new person with a bright glow, a fresh mind, and a memory free from the grip of and bitterness or guilt of past events.   In fact, my life has become so positive now that it’s hard to relate to who I was as a person in my past, just a few years ago. I was extremely short-tempered. I don’t even remember how many glasses, remotes controls, and cordless phones I have thrown and broken. I was emotionally imbalanced and would have possibly ended my life due to depression if Sudarshan Kriya and Sri Sri hadn’t come in my life, which found meaning after I did the Art of Living programs. I am a fashion designer and have hosted several fashion shows and exhibitions. I loved my profession and used to work passionately for ...

I learnt the amazing practice of Sudarshan Kriya

I did my Art Of Living basic course 10 years back in Mumbai. It has been the best experience of my life. I learnt the amazing practice of Sudarshan Kriya.  After months of meditating, I decided to make a trip to Bangalore, where the AOL International Center is located. That’s when I had the precious opportunity of seeing our Gurudev, Sri Sri Ravishankar. I had never felt so joyous, peaceful, and satisfied in life. Just that one loving glimpse that Sri Sri gave me made me realize that this was the true start of my spiritual journey. He looked at me and asked what my name was and where I was coming. My heart skipped a beat. I told him my name is Kunal and I’m from Mumbai. With his mischievous child-like smile, Sri Sri blessed me. This was my first ever conversation with Gurudev and I knew there were many more to come. Over the years, I attended various sessions with Gurudev and was sincere with my meditation practices and got involved in service activities. Because this p...

WORDS

Bali Cliff Resort 18 Apr 1996  Indonesia WORDS  We attach meaning to words and we distort them, too. For example, the word "brainwashing." Like your body, your brain needs washing sometimes. You don't want to walk around with a dirty brain, a dirty mind. What is wrong with the word "brainwashing?" It indicates a clean brain, a clean mind, but it is used in a derogatory manner.  Like that, the word "disillusionment." It is good that you are disillusioned. You have come to reality. Like purana. It means "that which is new in the town, the most modern." But it is used in the sense of being old. In the course of time, meanings of words change. The word "enthused" comes from the Greek which means "God is with us." Then it came to mean crazy, and now it's changed again.  Don't be stuck with the words. Your worries are words. Your ideas are words. Wisdom is beyond words. It is the very Being. It is the essence of all wo...

Art Of Living And Guru’s Grace Brought The Positive Back To My Life

The day I attended my first Art of Living course, I knew I had opened a new dimension in my life. It felt like my consciousness had awakened. Until then, I was a very logical person and hadn’t realized how stubborn I had become.   However, thanks to AOL, my life changed for the better. I always assumed problems were gender specific. I used to think it’s easy for men to overcome their problems but not for me, I was getting vacuumed into all my issues. Luckily, this thinking has changed. We all face problems. Challenges do not escape anyone. It’s up to us to enjoy our lives and appreciate the ups and downs it brings us. Everything is a lesson. Through the course, I understood the importance of self-discovery. I learnt to accept all my problems and deal with them correctly. It gave me the gift of insight. Especially the insight into our culture and the importance of passing all of this down to the generations to come. My anger and stubbornness was seamlessly converted into...
