Is Guru Satisfied (Tripth) Or Unsatisfied (Atripth)?

16th January 1996, Ljubljana, Slovenia *Is Guru Satisfied (Tripth) Or Unsatisfied (Atripth)?* A student's job is to satisfy the Master. But how can you satisfy someone who is already satisfied? If Guru is satisfied, then your growth is shunned. If Guru is unsatisfied, he's away from the Self. If Guru is satisfied, then what can inspire you to grow? If he's unsatisfied, he cannot be a Guru. If he's satisfied, he cannot be a Guru. So what is the answer?

Gurudev at Mahalakshmi Ambabai Temple, Kolhapur this morning

Gurudev at Mahalakshmi Ambabai Temple, Kolhapur this morning

Gurudev visited Siddhagiri Math and met Pujyashri Adrishya Kadsiddheshwar Swamiji in Kolhapur

When we are on this path, to what extent can we hear knowledge from other Gurus?

Question - Gurudev, when we are on this path, to what extent can we hear knowledge from other Gurus? Gurudev Sri Sri - I would say, respect everybody. There is only one knowledge and that is available to you. But if you go on shopping here and there, you will get in to more confusion. We say, 'Do so someone else will say, 'No. So Hum is not correct, do Hum Sa And a third person will say, 'Hum Sa is not correct, you should do Sada So Hum', and then you get in to a bigger mess. So, respect everybody and stick to one knowledge. If it has given you any satisfaction, any upliftment in life, you should go deep into it. There is no point in digging many holes. In one place go deeper.

Open your hand, the sky is the limit

Chapter 1 - The Password To Divinity  Day 7 This power, this energy which is right here, right now in everything, has potential. That is ISA, that is the Divinity and what is the password for it? Leave the grip with which we are holding onto the material here.  When you are holding on to the material, it is like holding your fist - it is limited. You have to loosen it up. When you open your hand, the sky is the limit. What your mind holds onto, what it grabs is the thing that gives you pleasure or that which gives you pain. It holds both. First your mind latches on to anything in this universe that gives pleasure.  When it is latching on to a limited something the Infinite becomes obscure. Not that it is not there, but it is obscure because you are occupied. On a beautiful evening as you are watching the sky, a small dust particle comes into your eyes and that's it. It blurs the whole vision, you can't see the sky anymore.  This is what is happening when ...

Sevate who enjoys being alone

Chapter 5 - Crossing The Ocean Of Maya  Day 37 You know that story of an elephant and the fly on It’s leg? A fly was living on the leg of an elephant. Once the fly got so angry at the elephant, it said, “I am leaving you today. Finished. Enough is enough. I'm done with you ." It got so angry, it left.  At that moment, just by accident, the elephant moved it's leg and some dust arose. But the fly thought that the storm has come because it is leaving the elephant. It told the elephant, “Yes, you see, the storm has come? I am leaving you suffer from the storm.”  The elephant didn't even know that the fly was sitting on its leg. And that is how nobody really cares what you are, what you do, what you don't do. And all impact gets wiped out by the flood of time. Time comes and just floods you, wipes you out.  It wipes all the memory out of this planet. This me, me, me can only dissolve and you serve. He becomes free from this identity of ego, identity of the ...

Kankalamurti

Kankalamurti Did you know that Kankalamurti , a form of Shiva, carries a staff on which the bones of the arms and legs of the slain person are tied? Kankala-murti ("One with the skeleton"), also known as Kankala ("skeleton") or Kankala-Bhairava, is an iconographical form of the Hindu god Shiva. He is often associated with a fearsome aspect of Shiva, Bhairava and thus considered the latter's aspect too.  Kankalamurti is one of the three most popular aspects of Bhairava; the others being Brahmashiraschedaka-murti and Bhikshatana-murti.  One particular legend about Kankalamurti is that Shiva assumed the form when he slew Vamana, an avatar of Vishnu. Vishnu assumed the form of Vamana, a huge form that encompassed the huge universe to teach a lesson to the demon Mahabali. After Mahabali was humbled, the Vamana form became a nuisance to the world and the gods. On their request, Shiva destroyed Vamana and used his back bone as a weapon. Thus, Sh...

Wrapping Paper

11th January 1996, Weggis, Switzerland *Wrapping Paper*  All sensory pleasures in the world are like wrapping paper, the true bliss is the present inside. Divine love is the present, yet we are holding onto the paper believing we have already enjoyed the gift. It's like putting the chocolate inside your mouth with the paper still on.  A little chocolate may seep into the mouth, but the covering makes sores in the mouth. Unwrap the present. The whole world is there for you to enjoy. The wise know how to enjoy the gift inside, while the ignorant get stuck with the paper. Wally - Gurudev, I have some property for you to consider as an Ashram in the US  Gurudev - I want every home to be an Ashram. How many of you consider your home to be an Ashram? If not, what keeps your home from being an Ashram? What are the impediments? What do you think are the qualities of an Ashram?   *Hindi Translation* ११ जनवरी १९९६, वेग्गिंस, स्विटज़रलेंड *कागज़ का आवरण* इन्द्रियों स...

Be Satisfied, Content and Centred

It's natural for the mind to harbor desires. Desires don't ask your permission, they just drop in and stay. When they drop in and stay, that's when they create trouble for you. When they drop-in, you should see them off. If desires don't come at all, there is nothing for you to get rid of. They have to come, so they come. But, you should say goodbye to them. Do not hang onto desires and cry over them, just take them as they come and do not hold on to them. Wanting to have no desires in life is another desire. Be satisfied, content and centered. Do you know what the ancient saints and Gurus used to say? "When the sunlight comes, a candle has no meaning." You don't have to blow out the candle, just bring it into the sunlight, and the candle will lose its significance by itself. Similarly, if you have a bigger vision, the smaller desires will lose their significance. - Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji
