FEATURED ARTIST OF THE DAY - VICTOR WONG

Victor Wong is a renowned botanical artist based in Canada, known for his exceptional illustrations of climbing lianas of Southeast Asia.

With over 25 years of experience in the field, he has become an expert in depicting the unique features of these plants in stunning detail.

His work can be found in collections such as Kebun Raya Bogor, the Singapore Botanic Gardens, and various wild national parks in Borneo and Vietnam.

His illustrations capture the beauty of these plants in their natural habitat, and he achieves this through a combination of travel trips to the jungles and a studio setting where he reconstructs dried specimens into intricate watercolour and pencil paintings.

Victor Wong's dedication to his craft is evident in his meticulous attention to detail and his ability to convey the essence of each plant through his artwork. His illustrations have been featured in numerous exhibitions and publications, and he continues to inspire and captivate audiences with his botanical artistry.

His works featured here are described below

1. This painting by Victor Wong features Spatholobus ferrugineus displaying the general habit of the plant growing in the rainforest in Singapore Botanic Gardens.
