IMPORTANCE OF JWARA IN ALL DISEASES – CHARAKA CHIKITSAA 3/3-10

COMMENTARY – JVARA is the most important cause in the causes which produce discomfort to the mind, body and sense organs. Some diseases make problem to the body only like tumor, some produce problem to the mind only like AHINIVESHA, some to the sense organs like TIMIRA AADI but this JWARA makes problem to all of three. As it is said that when one is afflicted with JWARA, he gets miseries for sure.
Affliction to the body is said by SANTAAPA, affliction to the mind and sense organs is said by VAICHITYAMA. 
SARVAROGA AGRAJA means it is at first place in all the diseases of the body, even it is said first in the mental disorders also, it is true from many YUGAS. 
BALITVAMA means causing many disorders or disturbances. It is the most important in the disease which cause sufferings to the mind and the body. 
PRAANI SAPATNASYETI means it kills like enemy. DHRUVASYA means definitely. PRALAYODAYE means at the time of the death and birth. Here JWARA is present in the form of TAMO means darkness. It is also said that the there is great effect of JWARA at the time of death as well as birth. PRAKRITI AADI of this will be described in chapter according to the need. BALAKAALATMA LAKASHANAMA ITI means the symptoms of time, strength and self. 
VYAASATO VIDHI BHEDAATCHA means it has many types. YATA ITI YEBHAYO means it should be protected from VYAVAAYA AADI. The second YATA word means it should be protected from its causes. 
JAGATHITAARTHAMA ITI ANENA – after hearing all this, AGNIVESHA says now I will describe the treatments, this way he shows KARUNAA to his disciples. JVARA ADHIKAARA is the directions for this.
