                                                                                                              CHARAK SUTRA 17 - 45-61

प्रकृतिस्थं यदा पित्तं – when the PITTA is present in its normal state in its normal physiological place
मारुतः श्लेष्मणः क्षये| स्थानादादाय – and when there occurs KAPHA KSHYA also – then this PITTA is being moved by the VAATA to various other places in the body
गात्रेषु यत्र यत्र विसर्पति||४५||
तदा भेदश्च दाहश्च तत्र तत्रानवस्थितः| - then this transportation results in the PITTA VRIDHI at that other place due to – NORMAL PITTA present in that place + the PITTA being brought there – thus producing symptoms of BHEDA, DAAHA – seeing these symptoms one may think of applying PITTA SHAMAKA CHIKITSA but actually we need VAATA SHAMAN in such a case
गात्रदेशे भवत्यस्य श्रमो दौर्बल्यमेव च||४६|| - there also occurs SHRAMA and DAURBALYA in that other place.

HOW would we know that these PITTAJA symptoms actually need VAATASHAMANA as it has been explained by CHAKRAPAANI in commentary.

Out of 4 – 3 symptoms are caused by VAATA and 1 by PITTA – which will need VAATASHAAMAKA CHIKITSA
BHEDA, SHRAMA, DAURBALYA – VAATAJ, DAAHA - PITTAJ
