Seva is that desireless action

Chapter 1 - The Password To Divinity

Day 10

Just observe and reflect on the small incidents in your life. All this knowledge is not intellectual gymnastics. It is for you to look inwards and ponder on your own life. "Am I absorbing this? What is the cause of my depression, my anxiety? First of all, I don't believe there is a Power all around me. And then that it is mine and It is protecting me". This faith is missing.

Secondly, there is a tendency to grab more. What more do you want to grab? Knowledge? "If there is nothing material, then I want grab more knowledge more spirituality". Come on. Relax. Once you are on the path, once you are sitting in Upanishad with the Master, relax. Still if you keep running, it is like running inside a train.

If you keep running inside a train it is not that you will reach faster. If you get up and walk in the plane because you are in a hurry, the plane is not going to land any faster. Determination to live for 100 years and being useful doing work, which does not benefit you, it's the secret. There is no other way. Take a few minutes and contemplate on this.

Contemplate on all other actions to which we get attached. At some point, we feel like running away from it because our nature is to be free. Which is the action that sets you free. It is the action in which you are not trying to something but the action in which you relax. A flower is there but it's not trying to bring fragrance to your nose. It is just there and it brings the fragrance to you. It is good enough.

In the same way, your being centered is good enough. Now, when I say action, immediately you start thinking "See that person is able to do more sea. This person is able to do more Seva. I can't, I am old and I am not capable. Don't get into this trip.

Seva is that Nishkam karma, desireless action, that action which is within your capacity. If you are not a doctor, nobody expects you to treat them. But if you are a doctor and you are not treating your patients, then people ask for it. Do that action which is in your capacity.
