You should observe the mind - its impressions, thoughts and feelings. | PATANJALI YOGA SUTRAS

🌹PATANJALI YOGA SUTRAS🌹                          🌀CHAPTER - 8🌀         ~ The Veils Of Misery ~                 🌀DAY - 60🌀 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷 Look into the motives behind your actions. Often, you do not go for things that you really want. You go for them because others want them. You may even go for something depending on what others would say, think or do about it. And many times you are not clear about what you want because you have never really looked into yourself. You are swayed by fleeting thoughts, fleeting emotions and fleeting desires. Your desire may not even be your own. Maybe, some outside factors - food, events, situations or company have raised a storm in you and you start believing that storm as your very Self. That is why often you are not happy even when your desires are fulfilled. You should observe the Self. You should wonde...

What does tapas do? Why should we undergo tapas? | PATANJALI YOGA SUTRAS

🌹PATANJALI YOGA SUTRAS🌹                          🌀CHAPTER - 8🌀         ~ The Veils Of Misery ~                 🌀DAY - 59🌀 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷 We are talking about tapas. What does tapas do? Why should we undergo tapas?             It purifies our system and strengthens our system - purity and strength. That is the purpose of tapas. But tapas can bring a big ego in a person. Unfortunately, people think by doing tapas, they will become very great. If someone has to fast for long periods of time, he must have had lots of impurities. Out of proportion glorification of tapas leads to ego.             That is why the next thing to be done immediately after tapas is swaadhyaaya. Swaadhyaaya is self-study. Why do you fast? Is it just to show off? Is it in competition with somebody?   ...

Manomaya Tapas. Aatma vinigraha - coming back to the Self, | PATANJALI YOGA SUTRAS

🌹PATANJALI YOGA SUTRAS🌹                          🌀CHAPTER - 7🌀                ~ Kriya Yoga ~                 🌀DAY - 58🌀 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷 And then there is Manomaya Tapas - tapas of the mind. " Manaha prasaadaha sowmyataam mounam aatma vinigraha " Patanjali has said four things.            Manaha prasaadaha - the pleasantness in the mind. It is a big tapas to maintain the pleasantness of the mind. You may feel pleasant but soon you drop all that pleasantness. Manaprasaadah - maintaining the pleasantness and contentment in the mind.            Sowmyataam - sowmya means calm and composed. You can feel pleasant, but excited. That is not sowmya. Some people feel very pleasant but they do not feel calm. The pleasantness can mak them feel very crazy and excited. So, al...

There are three type of tapas - the bodily tapas, the tapas of the speech, and the tapas of the mind | PATANJALI YOGA SUTRAS

🌹PATANJALI YOGA SUTRAS🌹                          🌀CHAPTER - 7🌀                ~ Kriya Yoga ~                 🌀DAY - 57🌀 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷 There are three other sections of tapas - the bodily tapas, the tapas of the speech, and the tapas of the mind.            Bodily tapas is maintaining physical hygiene, avoiding lethargy, having control over the five senses, etc. You may want to watch the television, but you do not. You are not hungry and you just do not eat even if you want to. Physical tapas is maintaining personal hygiene and continence, remaining in the Self and having a control over the senses and the body.            And then, there is tapas of the speech. This is saying only such things that do not distress people - speaking the truth and speaking the pl...

There are three types of tapas - sattvic, rajasic and tamasic | PATANJALI YOGA SUTRAS

🌹PATANJALI YOGA SUTRAS🌹                          🌀CHAPTER - 7🌀                ~ Kriya Yoga ~                 🌀DAY - 56🌀 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷 There are three types of tapas - sattvic, rajasic and tamasic.            Sattvic tapas is one in which you are not even aware that you are doing it. You are just part of the phenomenon. The world today is a phenomenon and you are just a part of that phenomenon. Where do you exist? There may be so many waves or ripples in a lake but it is ridiculous if each one of them thinks that it is existing as a wave. When a wind blows, so many waves arises, and they all subside a little later. And one wave calls itself Jyothi, another is Michel, and there would be others - David, Dev and Lillian. Those limited waves have been given different names. And all these waves...

Just keep doing sadhana and sewa be in satsang l Guru Stories

On 9th February 2020, I had to attend the Famdent dental conference which was held in auto cluster exhibition centre in chinchwad near pune. As usual my dad who is 70+ was also accompanying me. I had planned this travel one month in advance and booked railway tickets too and fro from kalyan to chinchwad as my dad prefers train travel. I like to plan my travel in detail and took printout of the tickets in advance so that even if my mobile battery goes low I will have the tickets. Now comes the Guru surprise. The conference was till 6pm and it was great expo, I had a great experience and by 4pm I had all the materials I had wanted to buy met all those whom I had intended to meet got new connections and was very happy and contended so I decided to leave early at 4 pm and came out of the venue and my dad said we will go to the railway station and rest till 6:30pm till the train comes. Just as we came out and were looking for an auto Mr Veeresh who met me after a long time came ...

We need four things in life - power, skill, devotion and liberation. (Shakti, Yukti, Bhakti and Mukti).

Question - Gurudev, why is that people who do wrong move ahead freely most of the times while we also see people who do right but still suffer. Why is it so? Can you please throw some light on this phenomenon? Gurudev Sri Sri - You think that the people who do something wrong progress in life. But haven’t you noticed the downfall these people face afterwards? There was a man named Madoff in America. People from all over the whole world were crazy to have a photograph with him. Now he is in jail. His own son revealed his scandal. So whoever attains success with unfair means will definitely fall down. There are many examples like this.If you are suffering that is not because you are good, but it may be due to a lack in skillfulness. We need four things in life - power, skill, devotion and liberation. (Shakti, Yukti, Bhakti and Mukti). You cannot be successful in society without power and skillfulness. And you cannot be successful in life without devotion and liberation. So yo...

Shiva Sutra 1.7 | This body is made of this soil, grain, air, water, and it will be found in it, it will remain here only .... So feel united with it ... this is meditation.

_ (Shiv Sutra_1.7)_ Gyanam Bandha:. Knowledge is binding. How to get rid of it? ... The next sutra is ... Vaghanavarga: Kalashriram. In this whole world, which is a different vagina, has a different body, it is a different manifestation of the same consciousness, and your body is its part. This body is made...
