Stop thinking about enlightenment. Just start being grateful.

Stop thinking about enlightenment. Just start being grateful.  Find every little opportunity to be grateful and then you will see that you will abide in your Self. This is enlightenment . And all the other things – Knowledge, etc. will follow. You will find yourself present all over. But the first step is ‘being grateful’. We can’t take everything for granted. If we start taking things for granted, gratefulness will die in us. To be grateful is our very nature. Gurudev @SriSri

Kriya, Yoga, and meditation -- first you have faith and then Knowledge follows.

Weekly Knowledge #37 Oslo 21 Feb 1996 Norway KNOWLEDGE AND FAITH  In science you have knowledge first, and then faith follows. In spirituality, faith comes first, and then Knowledge follows. For example, the knowledge that pesticides and chemical fertilizers are good for plants came through science, and people had faith in it, and all over the world they were used. And then another knowledge came that they were not good and the faith shifted to organic farming. The same with antibiotics. The knowledge brought faith, the knowledge changed, and then faith changed. The knowledge and faith of science is of "happening." In spirituality, faith is first and Knowledge comes later. Like Kriya, Yoga, and meditation -- first you have faith and then Knowledge follows. For example, if you do pranayama faithfully then you get the Knowledge of the prana; if your do your meditation faithfully, the Knowledge of consciousness follows. Even an illiterate, through faith, attains dee...

Happiness is just an idea when you don’t know it and you are it

Happiness is just an idea when you don’t know it and you are it when you know it!           The most natural state for a human being, it manifests when you feel free from within. When we move away from our Self, our nature, we become unhappy.          It is ironic, though, that being the very source of happiness, we keep looking for it everywhere, like a fish in the ocean searching for water.  - Gurudev Sri Sri..

The factors that impact our happiness. The first is health, the second is the environment and the third is finance. The fourth is ambition.

We must attend to the factors that impact our happiness. The first is health, the second is the environment and the third is finance. The fourth is ambition.         Suppose we have the first three but are overambitious, it will agitate our state of being.        Desire means projecting happiness through fulfilling desires in the future. Even if you say you will be happy when you get rid of all the desires, that is also not going to happen! - Gurudev Sri Sri..

What is the difference between Spirituality and Astrology?

*Question -* Gurudev, what is the difference between Spirituality and Astrology? *Gurudev Sri Sri -* Well, spirituality is related to the Atma (soul) and astrology is related to planets. Astrology deals with observing the movements of the planets and making calculations related to the events that are yet to happen. The science of Vast is related to direction, to space, while astrology is related to time. But the One beyond space and time is Mahadeva (Lord Shiva). That's why for remedying any ill-effects of Vastu or any of the astrological movement of planets, just pray to Lord Shiva. He is the Lord of all planets and He can move them to favourable positions for your benefit.
