Laughter, the entire language is present, from A to Aha

The first letter of Sanskrit language is A, which is what every child says. The last of the vowels is Aha.          What is the sound that comes when you laugh? Aha ha ha ! So, in laughter, the entire language is present, from A to Aha.           In Sanskrit, Aha is used for wonder and for laughter. You cannot laugh without Aa and Ha in it, even if you try. - Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar         SRI SRI   |      AYURVEDA   |  YOGA   |   MEDITATION   |  SRI SRI TATTVA     |   SRI SRI TATTVA PANCHAKARMA   |

Kirtana , Chanting , and Japa

When we chant mantras loudly and together in a group, then it is called as Kirtana.           When we recite in a normal or medium tone of the voice, then it is called as chanting.               And when you recite quietly or very slowly in the mind, then that is called as Japa. - Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar         SRI SRI   |      AYURVEDA   |  YOGA   |   MEDITATION   |  SRI SRI TATTVA     |   SRI SRI TATTVA PANCHAKARMA   |

How to let go of a deep sense of sadness ?

Q: How to let go of a deep sense of sadness ? * Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar  :* Sadness maybe but not deep. You are sad because you haven’t gone deep.            Drop it. Your cravings, aversions ,hooking into pleasure have brought you sadness. That’s it. Invoke valor, don’t care for pleasure. Kick your craving for sex, food, appreciation and praise from others, your sadness will go with the wind. You will be bubbling with joy, more centered independent and self reliant. For all the above you rely on others. And when you have to rely on others you will become sad.           You are joy. We make a habit of being in a gloomy state of mind and that takes over. It may seem a little hard listening to me now. Again and again you have to hammer it to yourself. That’s why knowledge and wisdom are so important. Else you’ll get sucked into maya so easily.          Wise pray only one thing - let me b...

Scuffle between small mind and big mind

Scuffle between small mind and big mind Sometimes small mind wins over the big mind and then later it becomes miserable and come back to big mind. e.g: sometimes we want our smallest wish to get fulfilled and we become very feverish about it and later when it gets fulfilled we say oh may be I could have not wished for this. Because we see just short term benefits of a thing and not the bigger picture which big mind has idea about. We become more miserable and comes back to the divine.  QUESTION TO PONDER UPON_ : How big is our world? Have we ever thought?  Our world is bundle of our experiences. Our mind is caught up with those experiences and doesn’t go further. e.g: We crave for food that we have eaten so many times, we like music that we have heard many times. Our experiences with all the 5 senses are limited and same with people. Even people those come into our thoughts are same whom we have interacted with.  Our world is so limited. We are stuck with 4 or...

Yoga is the union of mind and body, and individual consciousness with universal consciousness

WHAT ENHANCES YOUR BEAUTY?

WHAT ENHANCES YOUR BEAUTY? Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji When your mind is not complaining, responsible, courageous, confident and hollow and empty, you are inexplicably beautiful.  A person who cannot correct or act has no right to complain. And when a person can correct or act, he will never complain. Complaining is a sign of weakness. Complaining is the nature of utter ignorance where one does not know the Self.  Complaint takes away the Beauty that is inborn in you. And it shows up more on the one who is on this path. Worldly mind is a complaining mind; Divine mind is a dancing mind.  Just complaining without indicating the solution is irresponsibility. When the solutions are not workable, finding alternative solutions is Courage.  FOR EXTERNAL BEAUTY,  YOU PUT ON THINGS;  FOR REAL BEAUTY,  YOU HAVE TO DROP ALL THE THINGS.  FOR EXTERNAL BEAUTY YOU  HAVE TO HAVE MAKE-UP;  FOR YOUR REAL BEAUTY YOU ONLY HAVE TO REALISE THAT...
